Was born in Streatham in October 1890 and died in Lewes in February 1973. Possibly the best motoring technical illustrator of his time. Max Millar it is believed introduced cutaway illustrations to the automotive industry.

Worked for The Autocar magazine for many years, (from at least March 1929, but the first cutaways appearing in the Autocar in 1926), producing extremely detailed cutaway views of the new cars as they were launched. He was also a cutaway artist for aircraft magazines of the time the earliest drawing seen was in Flight magazine December 1912.
