21 August 2022 - On what is probably the most peculiar track of the entire 2022 calendar, the Red Bull Ring, characterised by hard braking sections and acceleration from low speeds, Aleix Espargaró finished the Austrian GP in sixth place astride his Aprilia RS-GP.

Test rider Lorenzo Savadori, racing with a special livery that celebrates the 30-year anniversary of Aprilia's first title in World Championship GP Motorcycle Racing, achieved in 1992, finished the race in 19th place, hindered by physical problems with the shoulder he injured in training. In any case, Lorenzo gathered important data on a tough track to continue the constant development work being carried out on the Aprilia RS-GP.

Lorenzo Savadori drove a special RS-GP in the race. The livery represents a modern interpretation of the Aprilia colours from exactly 30 years ago, on the occasion of their first world title. In 1992, in the 125 class, Aprilia earned the first of the 54 world titles which now adorn their trophy case - one of the richest in motorcycle racing. 30 years have passed since that triumph, but 295 wins have also been achieved, the most recent of which - and the most valuable - arrived during this fantastic 2022 season, thanks to Aleix's first place in the GP of Argentina. Never before, in their brief history, had Aprilia reached these levels in the premier racing class.
