Koningshooikt/Hannover – Van Hool, the Belgian manufacturer of buses, touring coaches and industrial vehicles, will be presenting the EX, a brand-new line of touring coaches for the European market, at the ‘International Motor Show IAA Commercial Vehicles’ (25 September 2014 through 2 October 2014). With the world premiere of the EX, Van Hool is taking a new step in the company´s richly-filled history. The EX line will initially be marketed in 2 heights and 3 lengths. The model palette is composed of more standardised 2- or 3-axle vehicles which, depending on the configuration, can be used for the transport of tourists, scheduled services or intercity services. As of the fourth quarter of 2014, the EX will be built in the Van Hool plant in Skopje, Macedonia and, as of the first quarter of 2015, one will be able to admire it on European roads.

The EX has been fully designed and developed at the headquarters in Koningshooikt, Belgium and from the fourth quarter 2014 the EX will be manufactured in the Van Hool factory in Skopje, Macedonia. During the first quarter 2015 the coaches will be a sight to behold on European roads. The sales and after-sales service will be managed from Koningshooikt.

On the eve of the opening of the IAA International Motor Show 2014, one of the world's most important trade fairs for commercial vehicles, Van Hool unveiled two examples from its new range: the EX15H and the EX16M.

The EX will initially be available in two versions, as a 2-axle only. In Hannover Van Hool presented the EX15H and the EX16M. The EX15H has a height of 3805 mm and a length of 12480 mm with a wheelbase of 6010 mm. The EX16M has a height of 3675 mm and a length of 13260 mm with a wheelbase of 6790 mm. Front overhang (2890 mm) and rear overhang (3580 mm) are the same for both. Both models have a level floor.

The vehicles are fitted as standard with the much-appraised economical and environmentally friendly Paccar/Daf Euro6 MX11 engine (290Kw-394PK) with a GO manual gearbox. ZF AStronic and ZF Ecolife are available as options.
