French Company Soframe presents the Outfielder, a new generation of Special Forces vehicle at SOFINS 2021, the Special Operations Forces Network Seminar that takes place in the military camp of Souge near Bordeaux, France.

The Outfielder is a 4x4 fast attack vehicle developed, designed, and manufactured by the French Company SOFRAME. The vehicle is specially designed for Special Forces Units. The Outfielder was presented for the first time in 2016, at the Eurosatory defense exhibition in Paris, France.

The layout of the vehicle is standard with the engine at the front, the crew in the middle and a cargo area at the rear. The roof of the vehicle is removed and replaced with a robust tubular roll-over protection system integrated into the vehicle chassis. The rear part of the vehicle is also equipped with integrated tubular protection. There are two half doors without windows on each side of the vehicle. The front of the cab is equipped with two folding windshields, with bullet-proof windows.

The Outfielder can carry a total of 3 military personnel including driver and commander at the front and gunner in the middle. The roof of the vehicle is fitted with a circular ring mount that can be armed with a machine gun up to 12.7mm caliber.

The Soframe Outfielder is motorized with a Diesel engine developing 150 Kw. with a fuel tank capacity of 155 liters. The vehicle can run at a maximum road speed of 120 km. The Outfielder 4x4 can negotiate a gradient of 60% and side slopes of 30%. It can cross natural or man-made obstacles up to 250mm high, fording depth of 0.5 m without preparation, and have a turning radius of 7 m.

The doors of the Outfielder are fitted with armor protection designed by the French Tenexium that provides protection against the firing of small arms and artillery shell splinter. The floor of the vehicle is fitted with the T-KEEPER also design by Tenexium that provides protection against mine explosion and blast of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).
