At the beginning of 1965 Renault proposed an extended version of Estafette with a 1000 kg payload (and 2180 kg GVW) available in different body styles. The wheelbase was extended by 38 centimetres, an increase that was also found in the total length, which went from 4.10 to 4.48 metres. The volume increased from 5.30 to 7.75 m³. Some technical and equipment improvements (gear ratio, rear brakes, tyres) accompanied this development. The 1000 kg versions adopted a new "Estafette 1000" logo located between the windscreen and the grille.
